The Pitcher's Mound
By Sheree Rainbolt-Kren (c) 2005
Why would a loving God gift us with free will - then ask us
to surrender it to him so she can tell us what to do? Why
would a loving God put us in the dug out? Why would he show
us Creation and explain that only she Creates? Why would he
put us in the batter's box, then run the bases for us? Why would a
God that LOVES us withdraw his trust? Why would God sit you
on the dusty bench so he could take the mound for the big
hitter?
Just think about that for a sec.
Now that you realize how silly that is, you can wake up to
the picture of You Pitching. Of course, you will want to be
partnered with a good coach. This is teamwork. But, it's
your mound. You are the one facing the batter. It's your
hands, your eyes, your coordination, your leg strength, your
follow through, your timing and release. It is your mind
that throws the ball. But, ya gotta get to the mound first.
GOD WILL NOT PITCH FOR YOU. He will guide you. She will love
you. You will never be alone and without help. However, at
some point, you must get off the bench and out on the field.
Or, the team mates you have chosen in life will decide the
game for you. And you will be stuck picking up empty
Gatorade bottles.
God's Will is that you play.
You have everything within you to create your Grandest
Vision. What are you waiting for? Lightening? Silver
Platters? Printed Maps and Compasses? Booming Messages in
the shower? The Lotto? A Magic Wand? Or maybe you are a
pinch runner? Sure, you can run in squares, but, you can't
hit. Are you the pitcher that gave up a few runs last year,
and feel cozier warming up the starter's?
God is not concerned that you might be confused, for God
understands that eventually, when you realize the world is
lost on this idea, you will have had enough, and you will
scream out from the dugout for a chance to pitch. How long
will you wait to walk on the field.
You have free will. In all things. You are a creator RIGHT
NOW. You always have been. And you will be tomorrow. You
need no permission. You're on the team. You have the
uniform. You have the right shoes. You get to be your best
right now. Yay. Define yourself. Know where you are going.
Then, open up to all the possibilities. Get in the game.
Take the first step today to get on the mound. If you are
aligned with loving intent, God is already on the field. He
loves a catchers glove. Wise up, and throw your first pitch.
Peace,
Sheree
